QMAP Training

A Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP) is authorized by the State of Colorado to safely administer medications according to a physician’s written orders in specific care settings. These include assisted living residences, adult foster care facilities, alternative care facilities, residential childcare facilities, secure residential treatment centers, state-certified adult day programs, and Program Approved Service Agencies (PASAs) serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

It’s important to note that a QMAP is not trained or authorized to make medical judgments, assessments, or evaluations of clients.

Our QMAP Training & Certification course is a two-day program held monthly from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at our Grand Junction office. During this course, students receive hands-on training and complete state testing. Those who pass the exam leave with a valid QMAP qualification, authorized to administer medications in specific care environments.

To meet the regional demand for this qualification, WCAHEC can arrange additional classes with partner organizations as needed. The course fee is $125.00. Scholarships are available.

To register for our QMAP course or to arrange a course in your area contact Linda Applegate at lapplegate@wcahec.org or
